(WARNING! Tears of Crimson is for adult readers only due to strong sexual content and language)
I was only fifteen the first time he found me. I say he found me because I hadn't been
looking for him... yet there he was when I closed my eyes. When my mother was
declared insane, the only person I had left in the world was Granny
Louise. Even though she was good to me,
I was a target for bullies, ones that were convinced that the apple never fell
far from the tree. I was tired of my
life, tired of a world that fostered such heartache and pain.
Rafe changed things.
He salvaged what was left of my will to live. Those six years became my lifeline. He opened my eyes to passion, shared a world
with me that was so vivid that I could still hear his words in my ears, and the
ghost of his touch on my skin when I woke up.
Now that my world has seemingly fallen apart, the only place
I can think of going is where my dreams took place- New Orleans. Rafe and I have walked those streets in my
fantasies. Somehow, I feel like that's
where I can find my salvation, my purpose.
What frightens me is, now that I've stepped in Tears of
Crimson, a part of me is starting to believe that some dreams are meant to be
lived.

Thank you so much for joining me today, as I celebrate the debut of the new Tears of Crimson, the New Orleans Vampire Bar, series. Bringing these character's back to life has been a wonderful emotional journey, and I can tell you that I'm so exicted, I can hardly believe it's all come together. For any of my long time friends, you'll know that Rafe has been my dream lover for 25+ years, so this story is as much a part of me as one of my children.
The first book, is a stand alone read, and tells the story of Cara and Rafe while unveiling the history of their race. This isn't your normal vampire-paranormal theme, so get ready to have your opinion changed on another possiblity for the theme. This series is VERY adult orientated, I cannot say that enough, because it's not appropriate for young adult readers. Twilight and others would better cater to those readers. Sexuality is very prominent with my contemporary romance books, and you can expect the same running theme in my paranormal romance. In other words I don't like sugar coating my sex scenes, so you've been warned.

Most of this book came from reoccuring dreams I've had since I was a teenager, and I'm sure my mother wishes they'd been better filtered, but I explain why this happens in a fictional way in Tears. One of the things I didn't expect when writing this book, was gaining a clairity about why certain dreams are given to us. I believe now that I know that answer, and can finally put my mind to rest over being protected by someone I've never met outside that fantasy realm.
I hope you enjoy the series, and please leave a review. I love hearing from readers, and check in to see what being said often. No I won't stalk you if you hate it, and I promise only to leave comments if the review is good. Thank you again for letting me bring my dream to life. Who knows? Maybe creating Tears of Crimson in the real world will be possible, thanks to readers like you!
